5 Natural ways to lose weight and to maintain energy levels



  1. Having a Healthy Diet

Maintaining a healthy diet is such a struggle when there is so many cheap, delicious and unhealthy foods on offer. However, if you cut down on your portions and eat in moderation, you are on the right track. Never skip breakfast because as research has shown, it will help you control your weight. Make sure you make fruit and veg available at all times because snacking on unhealthy foods in-between meals is one of the worst habits everyone has. Eating at least five portions of different fruit or veg means you are receiving your vitamins and minerals which also help balance your diet.

  1. Drinking a Good Amount of Water

We need up to 2 litres of fluid in our body a day to stop us from dehydrating. When dehydrated, you can become tired and your energy levels can drop. You are recommended to drink at least 1-2 litres of water each day to help flush away all the waste products and toxins. Drinking water can help control the amount of calories you put in your body due to making people feel full and so they don’t consume as many calories.  There are so many different health reasons why you should always drink water and helping to control your weight is just one of them.

  1. Regular Exercise

Trying to lose weight or stay the same weight as what you are is always going to be difficult if you choose not to exercise. If you have a busy schedule and can’t find time to visit your local gym, that shouldn’t stop you. Home exercises are just as good, just doing 15 minutes of high intensity interval training (HIIT) will help you burn more fat than walking for roughly 1 hour. If you wish to lose weight and tone your body, you would be best to complete a workout of the whole of your body. It is known that if you complete just ab workouts it won’t work as well as doing an all-round body exercise.

Green tea is proven to help increase fat burning, boosts your metabolism in the short term and improves your physical performance. However, the increase in metabolism can depend on the individual so it may not work on everyone. Drinking green tea helps your body in so many different ways such as, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, helps lover the risk of diabetes, type 2 and can kill bacteria. Swapping your regular morning tea/coffee for a green tea can gradually help improve your weight lose goals so why not try it!

  1. Getting enough sleep

It might sound crazy that sleeping can help you lose weight but if you don’t get enough sleep it worsens your overall mental and physical health, making it harder to lose the weight you want and actually keeping it off. It is recommended that everyone attempts to sleep at least 8 hours a day, due to adults being so busy they are the least likely to commit to sleeping longer however if you wish to lose weight that extra hour in bed can push you along the way.
